Silver Lining Offers
Spanish Immersion Class

We are offering a new program for a limited number of children beginning this fall. We are starting a Spanish immersion class for 2-3 years olds. For those families either interested in having their children begin and master a second language, or those planning on sending their children to NVLA(a Spanish immersion program in Napa), this will be perfect. Our plan is to add a class each year to allow children to start in the program and have 3 years of Spanish language behind them when they go to kindergarten.

Studies have shown that the sooner one starts a second language, before age 10, the better and more easily the child can become fluent in the second language. Studies also show that a particular part of the brain is also opened up with the infusion of the second language.

California is increasingly becoming a bilingual state, as are many others, so we felt that since we have 3 terrific bilingual teachers we would implement this new program and see how it is received.

The program will be 80-90% in Spanish, similar to other immersion programs. 10-20% will be in English where the children will socialize with the other kids.
